I don’t think my opinion has changed about science fiction at all. I didn’t really like it before. I just thought it was weird, unrealistic, and scary. And that’s what I think now. Most science-fiction, has a lot of violence, and the ones that don’t are just really terrible. I watched Angel and Buffy for my ARP, and they weren’t scary, well most of the time, there’s this episode of Angel that still kind of freaks me out. But anyway, those shows aren’t scary, but they are just TERRIBLE shows. I understand what Leslie was trying to do, science fiction has strong messages so it will be easy to base a paper off of it, but I think there are a ton of other types of medias that have those strong messages. I’m just glad we didn’t have to read about science fiction, reading is hard enough for me to ‘get into’, but when I can’t relate at all, it’s nearly impossible. When we read Brave New World, it was kind of weird, but I pushed through, until I got to the part with the Indians, and then I was like, “WHAT THE HECK?!” I just can’t relate to that weird stuff going on, I guess that’s the analytical side of me, I just don’t believe it. And a lot of science fiction are just overdone that they seem SO cheesy. I like Harry Potter though, but that’s the only nearly science fiction that I like. But I think Harry Potter is more fantasy. But still, I was never really into those kind of books growing up, I just like the ones that were about girls my age going through things that I was.

  1. Yeah I feel the same way, I don't think my view of science fiction has changed a ton, although I did kind of like Caprica.

  2. I also do not think my view of science fiction has changed. I also agree that there are other styles of telivision shows that we could have wrote decent papers about. It's whatever though.

  3. I agree that there are other types of media with these messages. Maybe we should've been able to have an option to choose from besides only science fiction.
