So as my schedule has picked up (this is my second night past 2am, and now I’m nearly reaching 3am and I have an 8:30 class tomorrow and I won’t be able to nap until after English- so I may seem a little dead…) I’ve been doing some pondering about the hours in a day, because most people are complaining that there’s just not enough time.
So imagine that the sun got hotter, the earth moved rotated slower and moved farther away from the sun. This crazy scenario is supposed to represent a world where the days are actually longer, let’s say by 4 hours. But there are still 365 ‘new’ days in a year and it’s the same temperature we used to, because I hate the cold. So there are 4 extra hours in every day. BAM! What do you do with them? Or what will the world do with them?
So everyone complains, “if only I had more time” but is that the real solution? I think, with extra time in a day, we’ll enjoy it for a while, able to sleep a little more, spend more time with the family, ect. But I think eventually we’ll all just cram a bunch of stuff into our day anyway. It’s like the world can’t be ‘easy’ or ‘relaxing’ because then how do we know who’s best? That’s what college has been teaching me. Let’s make this really difficult, so we can really see who will shine.
So this went from a kind of cool creative topic to me complaining about college. Great.
haha yeah just move the earth and slow its rotation. no biggie
ReplyDeleteThat's a really good point, maybe it all just depends on the way we view the situation.
ReplyDeleteWell, you made it to English! Now just try and stay awake!
ReplyDeleteeither way it would still be the same amount of time. It's not like we would age slower. I never really thought about it like that, if there were more hours in the day, I would still be doing just as much. Good call. I like that scenario.
