Angel Episode 7

This episode started with Cordelia going on a date with her prince. Doyle says money can’t always make you happy. Cordelia disagrees, but after her boring date with him, she realizes it’s true. At the end of the date, a demon attacks her and the prince, and the prince just runs away as Doyle tries to save her and kills the demon. The first thing he asks when it was all over is, “Are you okay?” Cordelia finds that she is now confused, not knowing what she really wants. She always though she wanted a big house and nice car, but now she wants an exciting man, that’s also brave.

Doyle’s long time wife, Harry, comes for the first time. She requests a divorece because she is planning to marry soon. Doyle is upset by this because the man she is marrying is also a demon like himself. Doyle always thought that when he turned into a demon was what kept their marriage from working, but really it was because he couldn’t accept himself when he did change. Throughout the episode, he decided that he wants to finanlly make Harry happy, so he gives his blessing and gets out of their way.

Cordelia and Doyle went through change in this episode. Cordelia changed who she’s looking for, and Doyle accepted his wife moving on. Up to debate for Cordelia, but both changed for the better. What causes change? When is it good to mold? Or better to stick to your principal? Cordelia and Doyle changed for the matter of love. Cordelia wants to find love and Doyle just wants his ex-wife to be happy.
