Since in college, I haven’t had as much time to watch tv as I did in high school. Mainly because I had more free time in high school, but it’s probably because I don’t have a DVR anymore, that makes it harder to keep up with shows. Luckily in this age of time, most shows are conveniently online to watch past episode. Hulu.com has modern family and glee. And if a particular show isn’t on hulu, their network website will have previous episodes too. But some of them are weird and don’t let you watch the last one until the next one has aired. I don’t like this system, because if you get behind in the series, the only way to get caught up is to just miss one, watch the next one, and then go back and watch that one you missed. I find this rather silly because it makes it so difficult just to watch the show. I think the network websites should be trying to make it easier to watch their shows, not harder. I like watching shows online because it’s like a DVR, on my time and I can stop/rewind/fast-forward whenever I want. There are commercials online, but they’re not that long and their usually quite softer than the show. I think the volume change for online commercials verses tv commercials is very nice. And watching it online is like watching it on TV because I can hookup my laptop to my TV. The only problem with watching online is that the internet isn’t excellent here and my laptop is really slow, so I often have buffering problems. But it’s better than being tied down to my TV at a certain time every evening.
