Angel Episode 8
Buffy, Angel’s long lost love returns. Emotions quickly return, but they are reminded that they can never be together because he is a vampire and she is a slayer. In the middle of their first conversation, a demon warrior breaks throught the window and a fight begins. The demon gets away, and Angel goes on a mission to find it. His hand gets cut and draws blood, and the demons gets cut and his green slime gets into Angel’s hand, Angel is now mortal again.
Angel quickly discovers all the changes of being mortal like hunger, pain, and sunlight. He is faced with the question, “Now what?” He spent so long of his life dreaming that this would happen, and it finally has. What do you do when you get what you always wanted? Is it really what you thought it would be? Now that he’s mortal, he can finally be with Buffy. They enjoy the best day of their life together, getting what they only dreamed about. Buffy is faced with the same questions as Angel, is she really happy now?
The demon that changed Angel is back, and Angel must fight him, except now he is mortal and it is slightly more challenging. He is hurt in the process, and stays on the ground while buffy has to come and save him and kill the demon. After this, Angel realizes he has to go back to being a vampire. It kills him to do this, but it’s the only way to keep him and Buffy safe. He needs his power back to fight more demons to protect the public. If he decides to be with Buffy forever, he selfishly gives in to his own desires and ignores anyone else. Angel makes a sacrificial decision to forever stay as a vampire and never be with Buffy.
I think this is a show i would want to watch! It sounds so interesting. But the way i see it would he want to live forever alone or be a mortal and be with the love of his life? decisions decisions. I would personally pick the second.
ReplyDeleteit's not that he wants to live forever, it's that he knows he can't live a full life mortal with Buffy. it's that they'll be fighting demons forever and the only way they can be safe is for him to be immortal. if he wasn't, one of them would end up dead.
ReplyDeleteThis seems like a really good show. I am watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer as of right now, and I think that my next series will be Angel. It frustrating though that he goes back to being a vampire. As soon as the audience gets to see what they wanted to happen from the beginning, he is forced to go back to the way things were. I wonder if he will regret his decission somewhere down the road.
