When I get up in the morning, I like to watch some TV while I eat my breakfast. This morning I watched “When Harry Met Sally” This is an oldie but goodie. Warning: it is a chick flick. For some reason, the baby boomers take all the good chick flicks or romantic comedies in their generation. I’m not that savvy on the subject, so I can’t name all of them, but “When Harry Met Sally” is definitely a classic and so is “Sleepless in Seattle”. Both are Meg Ryan movies, but “Sleepless in Seattle” is not very good. It’s about this creep girl that falls in love with a man (Tom Hanks) over that radio, and then they end up together. I love a good romance story, but I just can’t get caught up into that, it’s just not believable. “When Harry Met Sally” isn’t much better if you think about it. Harry is an ass at the beginning of the movie and he and sally are friends, then suddenly he changes and wants love. This is just giving girls false hope that their best friend that “seems” like he doesn’t like her, will one day just wake up and realize they should be together. Not very realistic. My favorite that the generation took was “You Got Mail”, another Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks. This still isn’t very realistic, but at least it’s cute. Ryan owns a small bookstore that goes out of business by Hanks giant chain bookstore down the street. The ending? They fall in love. Shocker. Yeah I like to get lost into a good chick flick and think it’s true, but then I come back to reality and realize it’s very far from actual life.
I love "You've Got Mail". It's always on TV and I watch it everytime. I'm a big fan of Tom Hanks.
ReplyDeletePretty Woman has to be my favorite one of those types of movies.
